"MiniCom SLTS-DX" is designed to assess the quality of analog subscriber lines, used in communications networks, built on the basis of the PABX "MiniCom DX-500".

Operation of the system is carried out under the operating system Windows 2000/XP. It can be used as a complement to the monitoring and administration system (MAS) of communication networks, and also as a standalone product. The system provides an opportunity to provide status monitoring of subscriber lines of not only a separate PABX, but the whole network.

"MiniCom SLTS-DX" has a user-friendly interface that allows the operator to work efficiently with the program. The program window is divided into four screens: "Stations", "Line status", "Port settings" and "Group of measurements".

"Stations" screen selects the test object and displays its name, type and condition. It also allows to add, and delete objects and edit their properties.

Control units, on which the testing of subscriber lines at the current time is carried out, are highlighted in one of three colors: yellow - for testing of subscriber lines of the control module; red - presence of faulty subscriber lines; green - when the lines are intact. "Clicking" on the appropriate control module, you can get a report on the status of its subscriber lines.

"Line status" screen shows the number of test ports, information on the faulty subscriber lines at the current time, date and time of its last testing, a list of parameters, the value of which exceeds the threshold. Control unit ports, subscriber lines of which are faulty, are displayed red in the table. If for any reason the testing cannot be performed, the port is marked blue and indicates the reason, according to which no testing is performed (port is busy, overheating, not in service etc.). If necessary, detailed reports of all subscriber lines of control unit may be viewed.

"Port Settings" screen is a table describing the testing settings for each port. Each port can be included (excluded) in the list for testing. Using the list a group of measurements can be created. A port is connected to one or another group of measurements in accordance with the characteristics of the cable used.

After testing is complete, the system allows to exclude all lines from the list and to cancel their binding to the groups.

"Group of Measurements" screen contains a list of existing groups of measurements. For each the following information is given: date, start time, and frequency of testing of subscriber lines, list of parameters that will be measured. For each group, the thresholds are set at which the line is considered faulty.

There are four parameters: resistance of insulation, resistance of closed loop, extraneous voltage and capacitance between wires. By default, all thresholds are set from the "national standards of phone lines".

In accordance with the specified parameters the testing of ports is carried out. "Port Testing" screen of "Line Status" tab shows the time and date of testing, number of tested ports, results of the measured parameters.

If any parameter does not meet the set threshold, it is highlighted in red.

If all estimated parameters do not meet the requirements, all lines of corresponding port are marked red. It is possible to confirm the testing of analog subscriber line as a busy port. This is done in order to prevent erroneous action of the operator which can lead to break of an established connection. It is possible to store information on the results of previous tests. On the basis of the data received the degradation of cable characteristics is measured.
