General Description

 Platform "MiniCom-MX-1000-NGP" is built subject to the features of railways in Russia and the CIS countries and meets the requirements of the Rules of technical operation, Instructions on signaling, Instructions on movement of trains and shunting operation on the railways of the CIS countries, as well as other regulations related to the organization and safety of train movement.

 IP-TC technological communications network, built on "MiniCom-MX-1000-NGP" platform, performs the functions of all kinds of communication existing in the electoral communication networks and provides:

1) Process control of train movement;

2) Possibility of two-way access to public network of automatic and manual switching;

3) High-speed broadband access (switching) of subscribers at all levels within IP-TC;

4) Integration with the mobile network of "TETRA" digital radio technology system;

5) Functions of public network with regulated priority connection.

 Organization scheme of IP-TC provides 100% automatic network and equipment redundancy, a high level of service and multimedia services.

IP-TC configuration and station equipment

 Switching of IP-TC network is performed on routing switches "Potok-K-242" produced by GC "Informtekhnika" connected to DWDM routers via (IEEE 802.3u) Fast Ethernet - 10/100/1000 Mbit / s (FE) and provides 24 FE on line stations and sidings and up to 48 FE on stations.

 Routing Switch "Potok-K-242" is designed to create a local computing network (IP / MPLS access level). At each station two routing switches (main and reserve) deployed, which will provide 100% redundancy.

 As the basic elements of IP-TS two SIP server "MiniCom MX-1000-SS" (MX-1000-SIP Server), primary and backup, are used. In case of failure of the primary SIP server or damage to the transport network it provides automatic transfer of IP-TC switching to the backup SIP server.

 To form a dispatch circle with the possibility of "one says, everybody listens" negotiations with the push-to-talk switch for dispatcher / station officer there are two (primary and backup) meeting server "MiniCom MX-1000-CS" (MX-1000-Conference Server ) used.

 Meeting Server "MiniCom MX-1000-CS" is designed to solve the problems of gathering and management of conferences for the maximum number of participants in one to 60. Conference participants can act as a SIP-subscribers and ordinary subscribers, including analog terminations.

 Negotiation technology in dispatch circle fully corresponds to the existing algorithms and rules of rail transport.

 Two (primary and backup) meeting servers "MiniCom MX-1000-MS" (MX-1000-Meeting Server) designed to organize and switch group channels and management at the functional level with integration into the existing system of trunk, departmental and local technical conference calls, using push-to-talk signal with the right of priority connections and failure. Meetings Server allows interfacing to inherited tools for organizing selective audio conferences. The server performs the collection and communication management of meetings in automatic or manual mode, thus providing functions for inclusion in the list of participants of the meeting as analog wire terminations and SIP subscribers.

 To pair IP-TC with existing digital and analog OTC, CTC, TLC and meetings communication equipment of any manufacturer, with E1 flows, with analog 2-wire and 4-wire termination taps, FXO, FXS, with backup lines of inter-office communication, with lines of long-communication the platform uses matching devices "MiniCom MX-1000-Gw" (MX-1000-Gateware).

 In the dispatchers’ workplaces there will be digital control consoles (IP-Rhone) equipped with a 15 inch display and LCD touch-screen, with the speakerphone with adjustable volume (Figure 1). On the digital control consoles it is able to negotiate in a handset mode. Digital control consoles is also equipped with a video display (transmit / receive) and direct call keyboard for at least 64 subscribers.

 Voice traffic in a communication network is organized using a RTP protocol (RFC 3550). Operation of IP-Rhone is provided by two MX-1000-DS (primary and backup) dispatch servers. One server provides the possibility to connect up to 30 dispatchers.

 To reserve dispatch consoles SIP-phones interfaced with IP-TS via SIP v.2.0 protocol (RFC 2543, RFC 3261) are additionally installed in the workplace.

 In the workplace of station officers (SO) there are digital control panels (SIP-phones) with additional consoles with at least 64 programmable keys.

 SO digital control panel manages negotiations via speakerphone system with adjustable volume and handset mode.

 To reserve a major dispatcher and SO digital consoles, SIP-phones with built-in line display and direct call keypad for at least 10 subscribers will be installed in personal staff places.

 System software of IP-TC basic equipment

 System soft of "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform based on SIP protocol allows an automated telephone connection and the following dispatch communications:

 • Train dispatch communication;

• Energy dispatch communication;

• Service dispatch communication;

• Line-track communication;

• Station communication;

• Ticket dispatch communication;

• Carriage dispatch communication;

• Meetings communication;

• Road and administrative communication;

• Connection to the place of emergency works.

 Also, it is possible the implementation of inter-station communications between bordering SOs and long- communication.

 System soft of "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform provides:

 1) organization and switching of a group channel and management at the functional level;

 2) integration of the existing system of trunk, departmental and local technological selective conferences, using push-to-talk signal with priority of connection and interruption;

 3) two-way integration of IP-TC with a network of "TETRA" mobile digital radio standard;

 4) interchangeability and automatic transfer of functions between a host server, terminal equipment of workplaces of TDO, SO, line and station equipment;

 5) remote control, administration and monitoring of IP-TC at all levels;

 6) automatic control and signaling of devices or channel failure at any level of IP-TS - transmission / receipt, switching, routing and signal conversion;

 7) registration of negotiations.

 IP-TC based on "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform enables full integration with existing OTC, ADR, ACC, MAS and ISS networks and adjoining areas.

 IP-TC signaling protocols

 "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform supports:

 1. SNMP-Protokol, including EIROR TRAPS protocol for control of link loops and network elements.

 2. PAP Protocol - Password Protocol - connection of subscribers, registration of terminal devices.

 3. VPN Protocol – possibility of physical separation of network, with the option of time-slots routing.

 4. SIP Protocol for integration with "TETRA" digital radio system.

 Reliability of IP-TC operation

 The mean time between failures (errors) of software and hardware means of "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform is at least 20,000 hours.

 There is 10% buffer stock of spare parts and materials, update and maintenance of IP-TC software products.

 There is training for customer’s specialists on the course "Installation, operation and maintenance of "MiniCom MX-1000-NGP" platform.

 The platform uses primary and secondary sources of power supply of the first category, ensuring guaranteed power from uninterrupted power supply for at least 8 hours.

 The requirements for information security and requirements for network reliability are met by a number of technical, organizational and staffing activities.

 The technical measures include:

 • separation of user access rights by means of interim password authentication, PAP Password Protocol;

 • separation of network traffic by prioritization in Quality of Service model (QOS, RFC 1633);

 • isolation network traffic critical to system functioning by means of Virtual Local Area Network mechanism (VLAN, IEEE 802.1Q, 802.1x);

 • localization of application systems and applications traffic, including user, by means of Virtual Private Network mechanism (VPN PPPoE RFC 2516, PPTP RFC 2637, IPSec RFC 240x-241x).
